Different valves function in different ways. Check valves permit free flow in one direction and block flow in the opposite direction. The directional control valve is used to pass on the pressure medium (i.e. flow) in an orderly fashion to a particular direction. Pressure control valves switch (or control) at a certain pressure; the switching pressure may be adjusted on the valve.

Pulley systems are used to provide us with a mechanical advantage, where the amount of input effort is multiplied to exert greater forces on a load.

Fixed Pulleys

Fixed pulley is perhaps the simplest form of the pulley system and it has been used since ages. The fixed pulleys are used to either lift or lower down a heavy object. The wheel is fixed in the pulley. This is the only pulley system in which equal or more amounts of effort are required to lift off the load from the ground.

The advantage of the fixed pulley system is that no force would be required in pushing the heavier objects or pulling them, which defeats the purpose of the pulley system altogether.

Moveable Pulleys

The movable pulley is the type of pulley that uses less effort compared to the fixed pulley because the wheel in this pulley system is movable. This wheel moves with the load that has to be lifted. The force that is required to lift the object is multiplied to the force that could be exerted when the load has to be lifted manually making the task easier. This is the reason why movable pulleys are used largely compared to the fixed pulleys. In most of the everyday setup, them movable pulley is used. Also, the movable pulleys are the ones that use up very little space compared to the other types of pulleys.

Compound Pulleys

When the fixed pulley and the movable pulley is combined, the end result is a compound pulley. This is used to lift off a very heavy object and should only be used when a long distance needs to be covered. More than that, the compound pulley requires minimum efforts as there are a number of pulley systems at work. More the number of pulley systems, the lesser effort is required to lift off the load. The disadvantage of the compound pulley systems is that it requires a lot of space. Therefore, these pulley systems need to be used only in a large space.

– A sprocket or sprocket-wheel is a profiled wheel with teeth, cogs, or even sprockets that mesh with a chain, track or other perforated or indented material.

– Chain drive is a way of transmitting mechanical power from one place to another. It is often used to convey power.

– Sprockets with Removable Rim Segments, enable replacing wear surfaces without removing the sprocket hubs or bearings, or moving the shafts. These come in both split and non-split versions.

– Wide-Flange, Drum-Type Sprockets, support the wide offset chain commonly used in drag conveyor applications. These sprockets are generally made of cast steel or flame-cut steel plate.

– Another type of sprocket, called a Traction Wheel, is used in bucket elevators instead of conventional chain and sprockets. It has a smooth OD, rather than teeth, and it functions by frictional engagement with the bushings in the chain links.

A coupling is a device used to connect two shafts together at their ends for the purpose of transmitting power. Couplings do not normally allow disconnection of shafts during operation, however there are torque limiting couplings which can slip or disconnect when some torque limit is exceeded.

Screeners

There are a number of types of mechanical screening equipment that cause segregation. These types are based on the motion of the machine through its motor drive.

Circle-Throw Vibrating Equipment

This type of equipment has an eccentric shaft that causes the frame of the shaker to lurch at a given angle. This lurching action literally throws the material forward and up. As the machine returns to its base state the material falls by gravity to physically lower level. This type of screening is used also in mining operations for large material with sizes that range from six inches to +20 mesh.

High Frequency Vibrating Equipment

This type of equipment drives the screen cloth only. Unlike above the frame of the equipment is fixed and only the screen vibrates. However, this equipment is similar to the above such that it still throws material off of it and allows the particles to cascade down the screen cloth. These screens are for sizes smaller than 1/8 of an inch to +150 mesh.

Gyratory Equipment

This type of equipment differs from the above two such that the machine gyrates in a circular motion at a near level plane at low angles. The drive is an eccentric gear box or eccentric weights.

Trommel Screens

Does not require vibrations, instead, material is fed into a horizontal rotating drum with screen panels around the diameter of the drum.

TV 2 Ultra Portable Wash Plant

The portable vibratory gold wash plant, the TV2, is rated up to 40 tons per hour. It is ideal for lower capacity or testing or gold prospecting where your raw materials are more of a sandy and gravely type material and not very sticky or clay bound. The TV2’s horizontal design allows for much lower feed height and improved cleaning action of materials. It accepts up to 8-inch material and incorporates two decks for thinning and separation.

Testing in clean river bottom material, the wash plant was able to achieve 109 tons per hour with 1,260 gallons per minute of water usage. Under correct conditions, we rate this machine between 50 to 115 tons per hour

SV 6 Vibratory Wash Plant

Our vibratory gold wash plant, the SV9, (aka Monster Red) is rated up to 450 tons per hour. This design allows for nuggets and fine gold recovery. The SV9’s horizontal design allows for much lower feed height and improved cleaning action of materials. It accepts up to 8-inch material and incorporates two to three decks for thinning and separation. It has independent spray bars with heavy duty, changeable, spray nozzles.
